Discovering the Benefits of Aromatherapy

By Patti Zimmerman  | Submitted On July 15, 2016

The description for aromatherapy is the usage of essential oils from plants for the purpose of healing. The word 'aroma' is deceiving as it makes it sound as though the oils are inhaled. That is only partially true as they can be massaged into the skin and in rare instances and only with specific instructions from a qualified specialist or trained individuals they can be taken orally. Regardless if they are inhaled or applied directly to the skin, new attention is being given to essential oils as a substitute treatment for stress, infections, and other health problems.

The ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Chinese, and some Indian tribes used essential oils for therapeutic purposes dating back some 6,000 years. They were used in perfumes, cosmetics, and certain drugs. More commonly they were used for therapeutic, spiritual, hygienic, and for ritualistic purposes. The United States waited until the 1980s before embracing the benefits of aromatherapy. There are many products on the market today that are being sold as aromatherapy. These products consist of synthetic fragrances which do not have the same properties as essential oils.

Crystal Therapy - Chakra Therapy and the Healing Powers Of Stones

By Monique Solares  | Submitted On July 29, 2013

Crystal therapy is considered as a holistic technique or an alternative method for healing that can be used to strengthen the mind and body. Crystal healers have been around since the ancient times, to our days. It is a type of treatment that is established and proven to be safe and beneficial to the body.

Crystal Therapy and Chakras
Basically, crystal healers provide healing to the body and mind by placing the gemstones on areas of the body referred to as "chakras". It is the term used to describe the spiritual energy centers, which can be found in everyone. There are seven main chakras all throughout the body; and every chakra works in conjunction with others to form an individual's energy. When the chakras are not aligned, it can bring about negative or bad energy that can be directed to the body and mind.

What the crystals do is to redirect all the negative energies and bring them back to positive energies; which can bring the natural balance of the body, including the chakras. Thus, Crystal therapy is widely used by healers to provide cure to various medical conditions; as well as spiritual misguidance and emotional discrepancies.

Magnetic Therapy Or Biomagnetic Healing

By Rajinder Pal Gupta  | Submitted On March 11, 2010

Magnetism is one of the basic forces in nature. It keeps all things in this galaxy in order. Earth itself is a big magnet and its magnetic field is responsible for protecting all life on earth against harmful effects of high energy radiations.

Earth as a magnet has two poles, a North Pole and a South pole. These North and South poles are for navigational purpose only. In Biomagnetism the nomenclature is just opposite. The geographic North Pole is referred to as South pole and geographical South pole is referred to as North pole. It is because when a bar magnet is suspended South Pole is attracted to North Pole and vice versa.

Magnet therapy has two distinct areas; pulsed bioelectric magnetic therapy and fixed magnetic therapy. In simple words the fixed magnets emit a static magnetic field where as electromagnets emit pulsed magnetic fields. Both fixed magnets and electromagnets are two different sides of the same coin but the electromagnets have three sides - electric field, magnetic field and electromagnetic radiation (EMR) as compared to fixed magnets, which have two sides - electric field and magnetic field. Electromagnetic radiation is the result of rapid acceleration and deceleration of the electrons.
